Couples Photographer Birmingham

Couples photography in Birmingham for people who don’t particularly want to stand in a park holding hands while someone shouts directions at them.
I photograph couples with an editorial eye and a cinematic foundation. Engagements, anniversaries, pre-wedding sessions, or just a reason to have images together that actually look like you. Based in Birmingham, working across the Midlands and the UK when the location calls for it.
The work is shaped by fashion photography, architecture, and real connection rather than staged moments or trend-led styling. Think magazine feature rather than moodboard recreation. Direction only where it adds confidence and shape, space everywhere else.

FAQ
Do I need to know how to pose?
No. I give direction when it’s useful and step back when it’s not. The images that hold up are the ones where something real was happening, not the ones where someone was thinking about where to put their hands. Most of the work is in the direction I don’t give.

Where in Birmingham do you recommend?
Depends entirely on the look you want. The Jewellery Quarter works well for architecture and texture. Cannon Hill Park and the Botanical Gardens for something greener. Digbeth for urban, grittier frames. If you have a specific place that means something to you, that’s usually better than anywhere I’d suggest.

Is this the same as an engagement shoot?

Essentially yes. Whether you’re newly engaged, approaching a wedding, celebrating an anniversary, or just want images together — the session works the same way. If you’re trying to decide whether it’s worth doing at all, read our honest guide first here

Do you travel outside Birmingham?
Yes. I’m based in the Midlands but I work across the UK for sessions where the location is part of what makes the shoot worth doing. The portfolio includes work from Cardiff, Manchester, and Cambridge. Travel within 30 miles is included, beyond that quoted in advance.
